According to the Wall Street Journal, the Trump administration and Israeli officials say Israel is prepared to strike Iran in the coming days if it rejects U.S. proposals to impose strict limits on its nuclear program. A senior Israeli official said Israel could launch an attack as soon as Sunday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raised the possibility of striking Iran in a phone conversation with Trump on Monday, two U.S. officials said. Shortly after, the U.S. began withdrawing some diplomats and military families from the Middle East. U.S. officials said intelligence received in recent days suggested Israel was preparing for a strike. When Netanyahu raised the possibility of an attack on Iran on the phone, Trump responded by saying he wanted to see the diplomatic process go smoothly before turning to military options. U.S. Special Envoy Witcoff will hold a sixth round of talks with his Iranian counterpart in Oman on Sunday.
