On June 11, the Financial Times reported that Bullish, a cryptocurrency exchange backed by former PayPal CEO Peter Thiel, has filed confidential initial public offering (IPO) filings with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).
Jefferies will act as lead underwriter for Bullish's previous attempt to list through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) in 2021, but the deal fell through the following year when rising US interest rates sent the stock market lower.
The company's IPO plans come at a time of strong demand for crypto-asset investments in the United States, with the Trump administration promising a series of industry-friendly policies and reversing a Biden-era crackdown on digital assets.
