South Korea's stock index rose to its highest level in nearly three and a half years, surpassing 2,900 points for the first time since January 2022

The KOSPI rose for a sixth straight session on Wednesday, reaching its highest level in nearly three and a half years. The KOSPI extended gains in early trading, rising 1.1 percent to 2902.74, breaking through the 2,900 mark for the first time since January 2022, continuing a recent rally triggered by post-election policy expectations and progress in trade talks. It was also reported that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung will visit the Korea Exchange today.
