According to the Washington Post, the US state of California has filed a lawsuit over the Trump administration's order to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles. The lawsuit claims that Trump overstepped his authority by invoking a law that allows the president to call in the National Guard in the event of a foreign "invasion" or "rebellion" threatening the US government, despite the objections of California Governor Newsom.
