Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, played down the threat of quantum computing to bitcoin in an interview with CNBC this week, arguing that when the threat looms, the bitcoin protocol can be upgraded to deal with latent risks through software upgrades. "It's mostly marketing by people who want to sell you the next quantum concept token," he said. "Google and Microsoft are not going to sell computers that can crack modern encryption because that would destroy Google and Microsoft - and the US government and banking system."
