According to foreign media reports, the British financial regulator has proposed lifting a ban on retail investors buying cryptocurrency-related exchange-traded products, seeking to enhance competitiveness in response to the resurgent U.S. crypto market under Trump. The change means that existing exchange-traded notes pegged to tokens such as bitcoin and ether can be sold to retail buyers as long as they are traded on FCA-approved exchanges, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said. Last year, regulators allowed such products to be traded on venues such as the London Stock Exchange, but only for professional investors. (Jin Ten)
