Wang Yi Meets with New US Ambassador to China David Pang

On June 3, 2025, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, met with the new US Ambassador to China, Pang Dewei, in Beijing. Wang Yi stressed that after the Geneva economic and trade talks, China has earnestly and strictly implemented the consensus reached between the two sides. However, it is regrettable that the US has recently taken a series of negative measures for unwarranted reasons, which have damaged China's legitimate rights and interests. China firmly opposes this. The US side should meet each other halfway, earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during their phone call in January this year, and create necessary conditions for the return of China-US relations to the right track.
