Tether launches cross-chain gold stablecoin XAUt0 on the TON chain

Tether announced a partnership with the TON Foundation to launch XAUt0, a cross-chain gold stablecoin based on LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. XAUt0 is based on Tether's gold stablecoin XAUt, which is backed by 1 troy ounce of physical gold per token and stored in a Swiss vault. XAUt0 can be freely transferred between multiple blockchains without relying on an intermediate chain or asset packaging, and is technically similar to the previously launched cross-chain US dollar stablecoin USDT0.
