On April 27, Pike Finance, a cross-chain lending agreement, said in a post on social media that the USDC mining pool on the Pike Beta was hacked at 8:13 on April 26, Beijing time, and 299,127 USDCs were stolen.
The root cause of this incident is that forged CCTP messages caused the USDC on the Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Optimism chains to be exhausted, leaving the USDC and other assets on the Base chain unaffected. The team has temporarily stopped protocol functionality, is working with two audit partners to address the vulnerability, and has come up with a plan to ensure that all affected users recover soon.
