Gold Ten Futures, June 2, according to Africanews, the Gabon government announced that it will stop exporting raw manganese ore from 2029 as part of a national strategy to promote the country's industrialization and reduce its dependence on unprocessed resource exports. Manganese ore is one of Gabon's most important export resources and is the country's main source of fiscal revenue, along with oil and timber. Currently, Gabon is the second largest producer of manganese ore in the world. The government said the move is aimed at building local mineral processing capacity, creating skilled jobs and enhancing the added value of resources. According to the official plan, the relevant industries will have three years to invest in the construction of local processing facilities. To support the transformation of the industry, Gabon also plans to establish a public-private joint investment fund.
