Petrenko said that at 22:50 on May 31, 2025, the Vigo Nić-Pilihino railway section of Bryansk Oblast collapsed due to an explosion, and the debris of the bridge fell on the passing passenger train below, causing casualties. At 3:00 am on June 1, 2025, the railway bridge in Zheleznogorsk District of Kursk Oblast was also attacked, causing the passing train to derail and fall into the road below. The accident injured the train driver and his two co-drivers. The chairperson of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has tasked investigators of the General Investigative Service with launching a criminal investigation into the above-mentioned incident.
