According to News.bitcoin, Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi announced several initiatives at the Bitcoin 2025 conference.
Mayer Mizrachi has revealed that Panama's second-largest bank, Caja de Ahorros, will launch BTC-based savings accounts, allowing its customers to take advantage of these custody services and streamline their bitcoin experience.
Previously, it was reported that the mayor of Panama City said that he plans to give priority to ships paying canal fees and consider establishing a municipal bitcoin reserve.
