Microsoft's Russian subsidiary will file for bankruptcy

A subsidiary of Microsoft Inc. (MSFT. O) in Russia plans to file for bankruptcy, according to a document released Friday in the official Russian Federal Resources Registry. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that foreign service providers such as Microsoft and Zoom should "restrict" their operations in Russia to make way for homegrown software solutions. Microsoft continued to provide key services in Russia after the conflict with Ukraine, but in June 2022 it said it would significantly scale back its operations in Russia due to the changing economic outlook and the impact on its business in the country. Microsoft Rus LLC intends to declare bankruptcy, the document released Friday by the Federal Resources Registry said.
