Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, believes that Ethereum could rise to $5,000 this year, almost doubling in price and setting a new all-time high, even though the asset has lagged behind other rival projects such as Bitcoin and Solana in recent performance. "I think ETH could go to $4,000 to $5,000 this year, I think it's the most hated L1 public chain right now, and usually when the market cycle reverses, you should hold the most hated asset, so I think ETH may outperform the others," Arthur Hayes told Decrypt at the Bitcoin2025 conference in Las Vegas.
Arthur Hayes' latest forecast also extends his bullish stance on bitcoin, which he said earlier this month could reach $1 million by 2028.
