Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Placing buoys in waters under China's jurisdiction complies with relevant laws

On May 29, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning chaired a regular press conference. Some reporters asked questions about China's placement of buoys in the exclusive economic zone of the South China Sea. Mao Ning said that China's placement of meteorological observation buoys in waters under Chinese jurisdiction east of Taiwan is in line with China's domestic law and international law. It is understood that relevant Chinese departments are carrying out normal maintenance of the buoys according to the needs of work.
