Apple wants to build its own gaming platform

On May 28th, according to foreign media reports, Apple (AAPL. O) is planning to develop an app dedicated to video games on its devices, hoping to convince gamers and developers that Apple is the market leader. According to people familiar with the matter, Apple will pre-install the app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV set-top boxes later this year. The app will act as a game launcher and will integrate in-game scores, leaderboards, newsletters and other activities. The move is intended to enhance the gaming experience on Apple devices, where players have many options, including Cloud as a Service and game consoles. Nintendo is preparing to unveil its much-anticipated Switch 2 console just days before Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9, where Apple plans to unveil the new app.
