Apple is planning a dedicated video game app for its devices, which will be pre-installed on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV later this year. The app will act as a game launcher, showcasing in-game achievements, leaderboards, communications history and other activities, as well as providing editorial content, access to the App Store games section and promotion of Arcade subscriptions. The app will replace the existing Game Center and is part of Apple's efforts to enhance the gaming experience on its devices. Games and in-app purchases currently contribute about two-thirds of App Store revenue.
