According to AXIOS, Meta Platforms (META. O) is restructuring its artificial intelligence team to accelerate the rollout of new products and features. In an internal memo released on Tuesday, Chief Product Officer Chris Cox announced that the new structure divides the team into two: ① Artificial intelligence product team: led by Connor Hayes, responsible for Meta AI assistant, AI Studio tools, and AI feature development within Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. ② General artificial intelligence foundation team: co-led by Ahmad Al-Dahle and Amir Frenkel, covering Llama model development, inference capacity enhancement, multimedia and voice technology, and more. The company's original AI research department, FAIR (Basic Artificial Intelligence Research), remains independent, but a specific team focused on multimedia technologies will be merged into the newly formed AGI Foundation Team.
