Global growth is expected to slow from 2.8 per cent in 2024 to 2.3 per cent in 2025 as a result of the tariffs, economists at Citi said in a report. "Part of the resilience of the global economy is due to the fact that US tariffs have only been phased in, so the full impact of their dampening effect has yet to be felt," the bank's economists said. The full impact could be felt in the second half of the year, they said.
