Pakistan Appoints Bilal Bin Saqib as Special Assistant for Blockchain and Cryptocurrency

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, as a special assistant for blockchain and cryptocurrency, granting him the rank of minister of state without salary and benefits. He will be responsible for formulating cryptocurrency regulatory policies in line with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards, promoting national-level bitcoin mining projects, and promoting the application of blockchain in government governance, land registration, and financial systems.
