Kyodo News: Japan to spend 900 billion yen to deal with US tariff hit

The Japanese government plans to use 900 billion yen (about $6.30 billion) in state funds to implement an emergency relief package to cushion the blow from U.S. tariffs, Kyodo News reported. To fund a package that includes reducing utility costs and providing financial assistance to small businesses, the government plans to tap budget reserves (to be decided as early as Tuesday) and the existing budget, Kyodo reported.
