"Today I received a call from the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, requesting an extension of the deadline for 50 per cent tariffs on trade with the European Union until June 1," US President Donald Trump said in a post on social media early this morning. "I agreed to the extension - July 9, 2025 - which is my pleasure. The President of the Commission said negotiations would begin promptly."
