NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Microsoft CEO Nadella, Alphabet CEO Pichai and other tech giant executives will join a new U.S. federal advisory committee focused on the safe use of artificial intelligence in critical U.S. infrastructure. The committee will work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to develop recommendations for grid operators, transportation service providers and manufacturing plants, among others, on how to use AI while protecting their systems from potential disruption. U.S. officials say the AI Security Council is part of the U.S. government's push to protect the economy, public health and vital industries from AI threats.
