Cyber security company Moonlock warned in a post that the hackers were attacking by distributing a malicious clone masquerading as Ledger Live, an app widely used to manage Ledger cold wallets.
At first, the attackers could only steal passwords, notes and wallet information through this clone app, giving them a rough idea of the user's wallet assets, but could not directly withdraw funds. However, within just a year, they had learned to steal mnemonic words and were able to steal the victim's wallet.
