On May 22, according to the Wall Street Journal, cryptocurrency trading platform Kraken plans to allow non-U.S. customers to trade popular stocks such as Apple (AAPL. O), Tesla (TSLA. O), NVIDIA (NVDA. O) and others in the form of tokens through a digital ledger. The company said that such "tokenized stocks" will make it easier for non-Americans to invest in U.S. stocks. Like bitcoin, they are traded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when the U.S. stock market is closed. Kraken said it will begin rolling out tokenized stocks in the coming weeks, which will be available in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Kraken's U.S. customers will not be able to trade them.
