Méliuz, a company listed on Brazil's B3 exchange, has announced plans to raise 150 million reais (about $26.50 million) to buy bitcoin, further expanding its bitcoin treasury strategy. The company has tasked investment bank BTG Pactual to coordinate the financing, which could be through a share issue, convertible debt or a public offering.
Méliuz bought 274.52 bitcoins for about $28.50 million earlier this month, and now holds 320.2 bitcoins, making it the first bitcoin treasury company to list in Brazil. The company said it would adjust its purchase plan based on market opportunities and promised to keep shareholders updated on progress.
