Coinbase reveals data theft incident affecting 69,461 users

According to documents filed with the Maine Attorney General's Office, Coinbase Inc. disclosed that the personal data of 69,461 individuals was compromised in a December 2024 breach. Coinbase previously noted that the data breach affected less than 1 percent of its users and leaked Know Your Customer (KYC) information such as names, addresses, and emails. The company said in a filing with the Securities Exchange Commission that passwords, private keys, and user funds were not affected.
