The Federal Reserve's Mr. Williams acknowledged that concerns about foreign investors pulling out of US assets against the backdrop of trade turmoil do exist, but argued that there was no immediate risk to America's "safe haven" status at the moment. Mr. Williams said such concerns remained mostly at the stage where "people are just talking about it or not". He said the US remained uniquely attractive to global investors, pointing to its technological prowess and noting that "American exceptionalism" had dominated global trade until recently. "The US economy is really dynamic," Mr. Williams said. "Honestly, we are the centre of the artificial intelligence universe." (Kim Ten)
