Opinion: BTC dominance is declining, but not yet fully into counterfeit products season

Bitcoin's dominance in the cryptocurrency market (BTC Dominance) has recently dropped from 65% to 62%, triggering talk of an upcoming "counterfeit products season." However, analysts note that while some counterfeit products are performing strongly, the overall market has not yet entered a full-blown bull market phase. Alphractal CEO Joao Wedson predicts that a full counterfeit products season may not begin until June, but the current market is still in its early stages. Moreover, while Bitcoin's price has stabilized at around $103,000, counterfeit products such as Ethereum, XRP, and Solana have recently outperformed Bitcoin, indicating that investor interest is shifting towards these assets. In addition, analysts also cautioned that historical data shows that the counterfeit products season usually begins in full swing when bitcoin dominance falls below 54%, which has not yet been reached.
