Ben Bernanke, the former Federal Reserve chairperson, has called for the central bank to provide the public with a fuller explanation of its interest rate decisions, as well as deeper analysis of potential forecast scenarios. "The release of specific alternative scenarios and their potential implications can drive a subtle but important shift in the Fed's communications strategy," Mr. Bernanke said in a note prepared for Friday's meeting at Fed headquarters in Washington.
