According to Cointelegraph, Jonathan Levin, CEO of blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, said at the Consensus 2025 conference that some criminal organizations have not yet realized the traceability of cryptocurrencies, which may explain the recent spate of cryptocurrency-related kidnappings in Paris.
According to reports, there have been two serious attacks in Paris this month, including the attempted kidnapping of the family of Pierre Noizat, co-founder and CEO of French cryptocurrency exchange Paymium, and the kidnapping of the father of a cryptocurrency entrepreneur to extort 7 million euros. Levin stressed that law enforcement has achieved remarkable success in tracking stolen funds and ransom payments, which have led to multiple arrests.
