Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise, has stated that a "major unlocking" is taking place in the financial advisory space in the crypto investment space. After attending a conference with a large consulting firm, Hougan shared his expectation that most large companies will achieve access to cryptocurrency ETPs by the end of 2025. He added that interest in cryptocurrency investments is growing and predicted that new metrics of inflows into cryptocurrency ETPs will reach "billions of dollars". Hogan also stated that the norms of portfolio allocation in cryptocurrencies are changing and 5% asset allocation will likely become the norm.
He further explained that institutional investors are becoming more accustomed to increasing the weight of cryptocurrencies in traditional portfolios. Hogan also said that there has been an increase in inquiries from advisers about Ethereum, saying that more questions about the asset have been answered "in the past few days than in the past six months". Hogan said that while Bitcoin still dominates in terms of size, Ethereum has become a key area of curiosity for professionals.
