Crypto market maker Wintermute has announced that it will open its US headquarters in Downtown New York on June 1, its first office in the US. Evgeny Gaevoy, chief executive of Wintermute, said: "As the US policy towards digital assets and blockchain innovation becomes friendlier, we decided to move quickly to establish a presence in New York City, the financial capital of the world."
In addition, Wintermute appointed policy veteran Ron Hammond, a former senior director of government relations at the Blockchain Association and former head of financial services policy for Warren Davidson, a Republican congressman, as head of policy and advocacy. "As the US regulatory environment becomes more constructive, we see tremendous opportunities to foster responsible innovation and deepen engagement with policymakers and industry stakeholders," he said.
