Standard Chartered has announced a partnership with digital asset broker FalconX that will make cryptocurrency services more accessible to institutional investors. FalconX will leverage StanChart's banking infrastructure and foreign exchange capabilities, initially in Singapore, before expanding to other parts of Asia, the Middle East and the US.
The partnership is FalconX's first partnership with a traditional global bank. Matt Long, general manager of FalconX Asia Pacific and Middle East, said it will enhance its ability to "provide robust banking and foreign exchange solutions to clients in the crypto market". Standard Chartered has been actively expanding into the crypto space in recent years, including the launch of custodial services in the UAE and the establishment of a digital asset subsidiary in the European Union.
