Tether CEO comments on European capital controls: digital euro atmosphere intensifies

"The digital euro climate is intensifying," Paolo Ardoino, chief executive of stablecoin issuer Tether, said in response to a €3,000 fine imposed on Spain for failing to report cash withdrawals of more than €150 with 24-hour notice, according to Alex Recouso, CitizenX's chief executive, who revealed European capital controls in a post on the X platform.
