On May 8th, Bitlayer, a project based on the implementation of Bitcoin ecosystem BitVM technology, announced a strategic cooperation with Sundial. The two parties will cooperate to promote the implementation of the BTC cross-chain bridge based on BitVM to achieve two-way interoperability between BTC and Cardano ecological assets.
Sundial is the leading Optimistic Rollup L2 in Cardano's ecosystem. This cooperation will break down the bitcoin liquidity barrier, enabling BTC holders to directly participate in Cardano public chain DeFi, NFT and other ecological applications, while injecting trillion-dollar BTC asset liquidity into the Cardano ecosystem.
At present, BitVM Bridge, a BTCFi infrastructure supported by Bitlayer, has established cooperation with six public blockchains and protocols including Base, Starknet, Arbitrum, Sonic, Plume Network, and Sundial, and will expand the ecological landscape to more ecosystems in the future. According to official news, BitVM Bridge has entered the final testing stage and will be officially launched on the mainnet this month.
