Shanghai: Lower housing provident fund loan interest rates

On May 7, according to the Shanghai provident fund news, according to the decision of the People's Bank of China, starting from May 8, 2025, the interest rate of the first set of personal housing provident fund loans for less than 5 years (including 5 years) and more than 5 years will be reduced to 2.1% and 2.6% respectively, and the interest rate of the second set of personal housing provident fund loans for less than 5 years (including 5 years) and more than 5 years will be reduced to 2.525% and 3.075% respectively. Personal housing provident fund loans issued after May 8, 2025 (inclusive) shall be subject to the provisions of this notice. Unexpired personal housing provident fund loans issued before May 8, 2025 shall be subject to the provisions of this notice as of January 1, 2026.
