In 2022, a hacker involved in exploiting a $4.67 million vulnerability in Voltage Finance, a decentralized financial lending protocol, transferred some of the stolen Ethereum to Tornado Cash after a brief hibernation.
Blockchain security firm CertiK posted on X on May 6 that 100 Ethereum, worth $182,783 at current prices, was transferred from a different address originally used for the exploit, but traced back to the hacker. In March 2022, exploiters took advantage of a "built-in callback function" in the ERC677 token standard, allowing them to drain the platform's lending pool with a single reentry attack.
