Mr. Bescent, Treasury secretary, said he was not in favour of the Fed issuing a digital currency. "It's hard to know when the market will turn against our debt. We are trying to control the absolute level of debt and drive GDP growth, and agree with Yellen that the debt-to-GDP ratio is what matters."
