The US trade deficit hit a record high in March

The U.S. international trade deficit, which includes goods and services, widened 14 percent in March to a seasonally adjusted record $140.50 billion, the Commerce Department said on Tuesday, as companies scrambled to import foreign products ahead of the White House's imposition of tariffs. Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had expected the U.S. trade deficit to widen to $136 billion from $127 billion in February.
