Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, quoted Bloomberg on social media as saying that South Korea leads the world in cryptocurrency trading volume, but it has one of the worst conditions for Web3 startups. It's as if more stocks from other countries are listed on the Korean stock exchange, while South Korean Ant's trading volume is ahead of the US stock market. The biggest problem is the lack of awareness of regulators and a conservative attitude that stifles innovation.
Bloomberg previously reported that South Korean crypto exchange Upbit accounts for more than 80% of South Korean trading volume, ranking among the top five exchanges in the world in terms of trading volume.
