According to Cointelegraph, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the New York Post was suspected to have been hacked, and multiple cryptocurrency community users received unauthorized private messages from the account. The scammers pretended to be journalists and invited users to participate in podcasts and directed them to Telegram.
According to Alex Katz, founder and CEO of Kerberus, after obtaining unauthorized access, the scammers did not post the common wallet theft link, but directed users to Telegram through private messages. To prevent the New York Post team from detecting the account theft, the scammers blocked the user's reply after sending the message.
