Cryptocurrency mining company Bitfarms (NASDAQ/TSX: BITF) released its April operating report. The company announced a financing agreement of up to $300 million with Macquarie Group, which will be used to build a high-performance computing (HPC) data center at Panther Creek. In April, the company mined a total of 268 bitcoins and maintained an operating capacity of 19.5 EH/s. As of the end of April, the company held 1,005 bitcoins, worth about $94 million at the time of $94,000/piece. CEO Ben Gagnon said the company will focus on developing the US energy and HPC infrastructure rather than expanding the scale of mining machines in order to create sustained shareholder value.
