Lan Foan chaired a series of meetings between ASEAN, China, Japan and South Korea finance ministers and central bank governors and held several bilateral meetings

On May 5, 2025, the 28th ASEAN, China, Japan and South Korea (10 + 3) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting was held in Milan, Italy. The meeting mainly discussed the global and regional macroeconomic situation, 10 + 3 regional financial cooperation and other topics, and issued a joint statement. Finance Minister Lan Foan attended and chaired some of the topics of the meeting as co-chair, accompanied by Vice Minister Liao Min. Before the meeting, Lamphorian also chaired the meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of China, Japan and South Korea, as well as the first 10 + 3 finance ministers' closed-door exchange meeting. At the 10 + 3 finance ministers' closed-door exchange meeting, Lamphorian focused on China's fiscal policy in effectively balancing the relationship between promoting economic growth and maintaining fiscal sustainability in the medium and long term, and addressing the challenges of population aging.
