According to the Bank of Korea, affected by the US tariff policy, the exchange rate of the Korean won against the US dollar fluctuated violently in April, with an average daily amplitude of 9.7 won, the highest level since November 2022. The data showed that the average daily amplitude of the Korean won against the US dollar in that month was 9.7 won, or 0.67%, more than tripling from March (4.3 won, 0.29%) and hitting a new high since November 2022. In November 2022, the exchange rate experienced greater volatility due to expectations that the Federal Reserve may slow down interest rate hikes. At that time, the average daily amplitude was 12.3 won.
