Agency: U.S. imports of refined copper hit a record high in April

On May 3rd, according to IHS Markit high-frequency shipment data, more than 170,000 tons of refined copper cargoes were sent to the United States in April, the highest level since data records began in 2014. Some agencies said that if this data is confirmed by trade data disclosed by the US government, it will exceed the record high of about 142,000 tons in November 2001.
