Top Republicans on the US House Financial Services and Agriculture committees will unveil a discussion draft that sets out an important regulatory framework for digital assets ahead of a hearing on May 6, sources said. The draft is expected to be similar to the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT 21) passed by the House last year. The bill aims to clarify when digital assets will be regulated by the SEC, CFTC or both. The draft is "90 per cent similar to FIT 21" but the Trump family's foray into crypto "has complicated the legislative process", according to the senior director of the Blockchain Association.
