Musk said Wednesday that he is considering sending his government efficiency team to the Federal Reserve, and suggested there may be a waste when the Fed spends money renovating its headquarters building. "At the end of the day, it's all taxpayer money, and I think we certainly - we definitely should - see if the Fed actually spent $2.50 billion on their interior designers," Musk said. By 2022, the Fed's spending on renovations to its headquarters over the years has ballooned to $2.50 billion, a figure the Fed attributes to rising costs for building materials and labor since the project began in 2021, when inflation began to spike.
