Malaysian police yesterday dismantled an illegal bitcoin mining power theft ring from the Urutengarau and Marang areas in Operation Op Letrik. The operation seized 45 mining rigs and related equipment worth about RM225,000, resulting in a monthly loss of about RM36,000. The case is being investigated under relevant laws, and offenders can face up to five years in prison and a fine of RM100,000.
