Baanx partners with Visa to launch USDC stablecoin payment card

Baanx has teamed up with Visa to launch a stablecoin payment card tied to a self-custodial wallet, initially supporting Circle-issued USDC. The card "allows cardholders to spend USDC directly from crypto wallets", transferring USDC balances to Baanx in real time through a smart contract at the time of authorization, which is then exchanged for fiat to complete the payment. Baanx is also working with Mastercard to develop a wallet card tied to MetaMask. "We are empowering people to hold and spend dollar stablecoins in self-custody, in real time - that's the future of finance," Baanx said.
